アクセスゲームズディレクターのSWERYです。

なかなか開店しないと噂の『Cafe SWERY65』ですが、やっと四回目の開店が可能となりました。

世間はすっかり梅雨ですね。

アクセスゲームズのある大阪も雨でジトジト…ムシムシ…とても過ごしにくい季節になっています。せっかくの週末も雨続きだし、最近めっきり自宅に引きこもって映画とドラマ（もちろんアメドラ）ばかり見ています。

最近のお気に入りは20世紀フォックスの「バーン・ノーティス 元スパイの逆襲」と、HBOの「ＲＯＭＥ」です。
テーマや世界観は違うものの、どちらも共通して人間ドラマに焦点を当てている部分が気に入っています。

特に「バーン・ノーティス 元スパイの逆襲」には、"あの"ブルース・キャンベルが出ているんですよ！
「死霊のはらわた」ファンの僕としては必見でしょう。
アッシュの変わり果てた…もとい、恰幅良くナイスミドルになった姿を是非、皆さんにもご覧いただきたい。

   

さて、話は変わりますが、最近僕はツイッターで「The art is always irresponsible. So it enchants people. Suddenly I thought this./芸術とは常に無責任である。だから人を惹きつけるのだ」と誰かの格言めいたことをつぶやきました。

それは、ここ最近は色々なアートや美術に触れて気持ちが高ぶっていたのもあるのですが、先日、友人宅へ遊びに行った際に衝撃を受けたからです。

と、言うのも友人の一人娘が、僕にこのような絵画をプレゼントしてくれました。

素晴らしい、僕の肖像画です。はい。
しかも…一年ぶりに会う、僕を思い出して描いたという。

このエナジーってすごくないですか？
１年前に会ったオッサンの顔を思い出して、その時の楽しかった記憶を呼び覚まし、そしてついに絵に描き起こしてしまうエナジー。

 す　さ　ま　じ　い　
　エ　ナ　ジ　ー　で　す　！

まさに湧き上がる衝動ってヤツです。

僕は感動して、衝撃をうけました。
そして、これはある意味芸術なのだと勝手に興奮して、あのようなツイートをしてしまいました。

この子のクリエイティビティが、僕にツイートさせたのです。

ところで…

僕の名前は「せいひろ」じゃなくて、「すえひろ」だよ！！

…ああ、芸術とは常に無責任な物なのであります。

 

さてさて、そんなこんなで今回の投稿はおしまいです。
最後に、先日「GAMASUTRA」さんで、僕のインタビューが掲載されました。

Art is such an irresponsible thing!

aHi all, and welcome!
This is Swery, Director at Access Games.

Just when you thought the place was shut down for good, "Cafe Swery65" opens its doors a fourth time.

Japan has entered the rainy season.(basically throughout the month of June)

Osaka, where Access Games is based, is soaking wet with rain... and humidity... making it a very season to live through right now. Even my precious weekends are filled with rain, so I spend most of my time at home watching movies and TV dramas (American dramas, of course).

Lately I have been hooked on 20th Century Fox's "Burn Notice" and HBO's "Rome".
Even though the two have completely different settings, they both focus on human drama, which is what I like about them.

"Burn Notice" is notable in particular because it has Bruce Campbell in it! Yes, *that* Bruce Campbell!
As a fan of "The Evil Dead", this is something I just had to watch.
I encourage everyone to see the completely different... er, the well-built, attractive middle-aged man that Ash has become.

   

Right, changing the subject. Recently, I tweeted someone’s famous words "The art is always irresponsible. So it enchants people. Suddenly I thought this." on Twitter.

I wrote that in the spur of the moment because I have been watching various kinds of art recently, but the other day, I received quite a shock when a friend came over to visit.

This friend has an only daughter, who gave me the following picture as a present.

Beautiful. It’s a portrait of me, yes.

She even said she drew this by memory, since she hadn’t seen me for a year.

Don’t you think this energy is amazing?
The energy to recall the face of some geezer you met 1 year ago, to summon the pleasant memories you had at that time, and to then put them to paper.

Such fantastic
energy!

It speaks of rising impulses.

I was shocked and moved.
Then I got all excited, having decided that this was a form of art, and so I posted that tweet.

This child’s creativity caused me to tweet.

By the way...

My name is "Suehiro", not "Seihiro"!!

... Yes, art is always an irresponsible thing.
